Visitors need to satisfy the following requirements before they are allowed to enter:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months.

  • Confirmed onward/return tickets.

  • Sufficient fund to maintain themselves during their stay in Singapore.

Immunisation Requirements

The only disease for which immunisation is required internationally is yellow fever. Singapore law requires yellow fever immunisation for anybody coming into the country who is above one year old and who, within the previous 6 months, have been in or passed through 32 listed African countries and 10 South American countries.

However, in accordance with the World Health Organisation's guidelines, it is recommended that you be immunised against such diseases as:

  • hepatitis A

  • hepatitis B

  • Japanese encephalitis

  • meningococcal meningitis

  • rabies

  • tuberculosis

  • typhoid fever

You can get you immunizations here in Singapore if you are unable to obtain them in your home country. You should not have any trouble getting through immigration as they normally do not check for immunizations unless you are coming from an area where Yellow Fever is prevalent, (Africa and South America).

Travellers' Tips

Please remove your passport cover to facilitate immigration clearance.

Do not carry goods for other people. If the goods are or contain dutiable, controlled or prohibited items, you will be held responsible. Under the Singapore law, the penalty for the illegal importation of controlled drugs such as heroin or morphine is death.

Under the Singapore law, you are required to open, unpack and pack your baggage when the checkpoint officer wishes to conduct an examination of your baggage. This is to give you full control over the entire proceeding i.e. you can determine the manner of the opening, unpacking and packing of your personal belongings. This would also prevent any unintentional damage to your baggage or belongings.
